Your Child's Journey

What 9 Months of Sensory Play Does For a Child's Brain

Sensory play isn't a phase — it's a developmental tool. Here's what consistent exploration builds over time.

01

Month 1

Hands In, Walls Down

The first box arrives and your child is immediately in the bin — scooping, sorting, and running the material through their fingers. For high-energy or sensory-seeking kids, something settles. For hesitant kids, something opens up. Either way, the first session lasts longer than you expected.

Sensory tolerance

Tactile confidence

Caregiver bonding

03

Month 3

Calm Becomes Accessible

Three months of regular sensory play and you're noticing something: your child self-regulates better. They reach for sensory activities when they're overwhelmed or overstimulated. The bin has become a tool, not just a toy.

Emotional regulation

Sensory self-awareness

Fine motor control (scooping, pouring, pinching)

06

Month 6

Learning Through the Senses

At six months, sensory play and learning are fully merged. Your child is finding letters, counting themed loose parts, sorting by color, and exploring simple science concepts — all through touch and play. They're learning without knowing it.

Letter and number recognition through play

Color and sorting mastery

Scientific curiosity

09

Month 9

A Child Who Learns With Their Whole Body

Nine months of sensory-rich exploration has built a learner who is confident, regulated, and deeply curious. They approach new textures, new environments, and new challenges without shutting down. That's a developmental gift that lasts well beyond preschool.

Sensory integration

Learning confidence

Whole-body engagement with new experiences

Real Families, Real Results

What Parents (and Therapists) Say About The Sensory Box

"Our OT recommended more home sensory play — this was the answer"

"My son has SPD and our occupational therapist told us to incorporate more sensory activities at home. I found the Sensory Box and it has been a game changer. He's calmer, more regulated, and genuinely excited every time a new box arrives."

Stephanie R., special needs mom, Pennsylvania

Sensory Box subscriber, 8 months

"My anxious toddler finally has something that calms him"

"My 2.5-year-old gets easily overwhelmed and we've tried a lot of things. The Sensory Box is the first thing that consistently helps him regulate. Something about the tactile play just works for his nervous system. We're on month 6 and I won't be canceling."

Hannah B., mom of one, Oregon

Sensory Box subscriber, 6 months

"I set it up in 5 minutes and she played for an hour"

"I was honestly expecting to spend 20 minutes prepping. Nope — five minutes max and my 3-year-old was completely absorbed. She played with that sensory bin for an hour and then asked for it again the next day. Absolute magic."

Claire M., mom of two, Georgia

Sensory Box subscriber, 4 months

"Better than anything I could have put together myself"

"I used to make my own sensory bins and it took forever and cost more than I expected. The Sensory Box costs less, saves hours of my time, and is honestly better quality than what I was making. The themes are so creative and my daughter loses her mind every month."

Kayla T., mom of three, Texas

Learning with Kelsey takes all the guess work out of teaching my kids, so I never have to ask myself is this too hard? Too easy? Or where do I find one of those?!
